Universal varnish for wood and cork floors, furniture, interior fittings, toys.
Colorless product made from natural raw materials
High wear resistance, easy maintenance.
Complies with European standard EN 71/3 (toy safety) and DIN 53160 (saliva and sweat resistance).
Not recommended for use in damp rooms, on constantly wet surfaces.

Caution: avoid application inside furniture, as there is a risk of persistent odor.

Instructions for use

  1. Substrate preparation he substrate must be dry (wood with less than 12% humidity), clean, free of dust, grease and oil. Cleaning with BIOFA 0500 thinner may be recommended.
    Carefully sand surfaces (floor 120, furniture 180-240), removing any previous paintwork. Use suitable pads.
    For freshly glued floor coverings, ensure that the glue used is completely dry.
  2. Base coat: bix well. Thin varnish with 20-30% BIOFA 0500 Thinner.
    Apply a thin coat by brush, roller or spray gun.
    Alternatively to solvent: use BIOFA 3755 Solvent-Free Hard Primer.
    After 16 to 24 hours, sand with180-240 (furniture), 150-180 (floor) or with a pad.
    Spray application:
    Goblet: nozzle 1.5-1.8 mm, 2.5-3.5 bar;
    Airless: nozzle 0.23-0.28 mm, 4 bar on 80 bar
    Values to be adapted according to equipment; do not apply hot.
  3. Intermediate and top coats: sccording to the strength required, apply one or two more thin, even coats of universal varnish.
    Sand if necessary before topcoat.
    Wood and cork floors should always be covered with at least two coats.
    Important: mix cans of different fillers; test first.
    During application and drying, ensure good ventilation, otherwise unpleasant odours may develop.
    Do not work below 12°C.
  4. Cleaning of equipment: immediately after work with BIOFA 0500 thinner. Used thinner can be reused after settling for a few days.
  5. Care and cleaning: aUse a soft, dry cloth.
    Wet cleaning should be carried out with a pH-neutral NACASA BIOFA 4010 soap.

Drying

Dust dry after 6-12 hours, recoatable after 12-16 hours (20°C / 50-55% humidity).
Floors can be used with care after 3 days.
Through-drying and optimal resistance after 7 to 10 days.
Lower temperatures, higher humidity, higher tannin content, exotic wood substrates or cork may result in longer drying times.

Consumption

1st coat: 60-80ml/m², 12-16m²/l
2nd and 3rd coats: 45-60ml/m², 16-20m²/l
Consumption depends on substrate absorption.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, tightly closed.
Transfer leftovers to smaller containers.
Filter if necessary.

Composition

Aliphatic hydrocarbons, castor oil, rosin resin ester, micro-wax, succinic acid ester, hexanoate drier. succinic acid ester, cobalt zirconium hexanoate drier, antioxidant.

Safety instructions

Allow cloths soaked in thinner to dry on non-flammable surfaces (risk of self-ignition). after soaking in water, or store in hermetically sealed metal containers. The product is not inherently flammable.
Contains cobaltbis(-ethylhexanoate), may cause allergic reactions.
When heated or sprayed, diluent/air mixtures may be explosive.
Keep natural products out of reach of children.
Do not breathe aerosols.
Do not breathe vapours.
Use only in well-ventilated areas.
Observe safety rules for skin protection during application.
Wear a fine dust mask when sanding.
The use of natural raw materials may give off a characteristic odour.

Recycling

Do not dispose of residues down the drain. Liquid product should be disposed of in paint containers or in accordance with local regulations. Small quantities and dry rags can be disposed of in household waste. Empty, dry packaging should be disposed of at a waste disposal center. Uncleaned packaging should be treated in the same way as the product.
