The solvent-free lacquer primer is a white, fast-drying, microporous and elastic primer.
Suitable for all BIOFA interior and exterior lacquers on woodwork, plastics and metals. Also for mineral surfaces (if pH neutral) indoors.


Attention: BIOFA products complement and finish woodwork. BIOFA's philosophy is to avoid the use of harmful or toxic products. (DIN 68800-2) must be part of the design process; the choice of wood and its application are paramount.
BIOFA also aims to comply with durability classes DIN EN 350-2 and resistance classes DIN 68364 in various weather exposure situations.
In some cases, prevention by synthetic chemical treatment is necessary; hence the importance of DIN 68800.

Instructions for use

  1. Substrate preparation: the substrate must be sanded, dry (wood with less than 14% humidity), free of grease stains grease stains and prepared according to good practice.
    Clean with methylated spirits if necessary.
    Remove loose paint.
    Old, well-adhering coats should be sanded and cleaned.
    Good adhesion to old alkyd or acrylic lacquers.
    Woods with a high tannin content (e. g. oak) or exotic woods (e. g. framiré) must be cleaned.(e. g. framiré) must be cleaned beforehand with methylated or a turpentine-based solvent. Allow to dry thoroughly.
    Take care with constructive cuts (no sharp edges on woodwork).
    Wood and synthetic materials should be sanded to 150/180 grit.
    Finish coatings (goupa, etc.) should be applied before the lacquer primer.
  2. Application: Stir well before use.
    Apply one or two coats.
    Ready-to-use, it can be diluted with a little water (minus 5%). Brush, roller, spray or brush application: use synthetic bristles (e. g. for acrylic lacquers). Coat thickness ca.100 micro wet, 40 micro dry.
    Sand after 12 hours, then dust off.
    Please noteCarry out a preliminary test.
    Do not apply at temperatures below 12°C and humidity above 80%.

    During application and drying, ensure good ventilation. Instructions for spray application:
    Goblet: nozzle 1.8-2.2 mm, 3-5 bar, diluted 5-10% with water;
    Airless: 0.011-0.015 inch nozzle, 60-120 bar, spray angle approx. 20°.
  3. Equipment cleaning: clean with BIOFA 0600 brush cleaner and water, leave dry brushes and rollers to soak for at least 24 hours in the pure product.

Drying

Dry after 6 hours, sandable and recoatable after 24 hours (20°C / 50-55% humidity).

Compositio n

Water, chalk, titanium dioxide, linseed oil, talc, montmorillonite, silicic acid, linseed oil resin ester, cobalt hexanoate drier. contains methylisothiazolinone (approved food preservative).

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from frost; a skin may form on opened jars. Close containers tightly and filter if necessary before re-use. Unopened containers can be kept for one year. Use opened containers promptly.

Safety instructions

Allow soaked cloths to dry on non-flammable surfaces or soak in water before using. soak in water before air-drying (risk of self-ignition). The product is not inherently flammable.
Contains cobaltbis(-ethylhexanoate), may cause allergic reactions.
Contains methylisothiazolinone.
Natural products should also be kept out of reach of children.
Use only in well-ventilated areas.
When applying, observe safety rules for skin protection.
Wear a fine dust mask when sanding.
The use of natural raw materials may give off a characteristic odour.

Recycling

Do not dispose of residues down the drain.
Liquid product should be disposed of in paint containers or in accordance with local regulations.
Small quantities and dry rags can be disposed of in household waste.
Empty, dry packaging should be disposed of at a waste disposal center.
Uncleaned packaging should be treated in the same way as the product.
