Biofa Primasol 3026 mat wall paint 1L
Calculate the right quantity of paint
You know the dimensions of your roomWater-thinnable, solvent-free wall paint with a natural potato starch binder. This matt, full-coverage, breathable paint stands out for its fast drying, satisfactory diffusion permeability and resistance to washing and abrasion in compliance with DIN EN 13300 class 2; contrast/coverage ratio class 2 at 6.5m²/l. This product is suitable for stable interior surfaces. Examples: plaster, concrete, aerated concrete, plasterboard panels, cellulose fiber panels, oatmeal husk paper. This product is also suitable for renovating old dispersion paints, provided they are clean and stable. It can also be used as a primer before glazing with BIOFA wall glazes.
1. Pre-treatment
Substrate must be dry, clean and stable. Remove old lime
or glue-based paints. Remove or strip layers of lacquer, latex or oil paint. Treat crumbly or absorbent substrates with Universal 1440 fixative. Low-absorbency substrates can be primed with a coat of BIOFA 3026 white wall paint (water-based, max. dilution: 100%). Fresh concrete, lime or cement plaster should not be treated for at least six weeks. For pre-treatment of other substrates, please refer to the table on page 3.
For stripped surfaces, light sanding (60 to 100 grit) and thorough dusting (sweeping or brushing) are required. dusting (sweeping or vacuuming, followed by damp sponging) or thorough cleaning with a brush and hot water. After drying for 24 hours, treat surfaces with Universal 1440 fixative. Upholstery adhesive residues are likely to cause adhesion problems.
Important note: When applying open-pore waterborne paints to various substrates, substances such as lignin, nicotine or rust, as well as various salts and humidity, can cause perforations, discoloration or color deviations.
For this reason, it is essential to check the compatibility of the substrate and carry out preliminary tests (sample areas). Watch out for VOCs!
2. Base coat
Stir the paint well before applying it with a brush, roller or airless spray gun (spray nozzle 0.53 mm, spray pressure 200 bar). Approx. 5% water may be added to the 1st coat.
Important: Ensure saturated, even paint application! Close to and along edges, work wet-on-wet! Use only soft rollers capable of absorbing sufficient paint! Test beforehand! Do not apply this product at temperatures below 12°C.
3. Top coat
If necessary, apply a second coat of PRIMASOL matt white paint. Ensure that the roller is always loaded with sufficient paint.
4. Cleaning tools
Wash tools with water and BIOFA 0600 brush cleaner immediately after use .
Drying
Paint is dry and can be recoated after 12 hours. The drying time for any subsequent glaze coat is 24 hours (20°C / 50-55% relative humidity). In the case of weakly or non-absorbent substrates, the drying time after glazing may increase slightly. A test coat is recommended!
Components
Water, chalk, titanium dioxide, potato starch binder, shade-dependent color pigments, mica, alumina, bentonite, wetting agent, antifoaming agent.
Preservation: Methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone.
Consumption/yield per coat
140 to 160 ml/m² or 6 to 7 m²/l, depending to a large extent on the condition and porosity of the substrate. The test coat is used to determine precise paint consumption.
Storage
Store in cool, dry, frost-free conditions, in hermetically sealed containers. Use opened cans promptly. Unopened cans have a shelf life of one year or more.
