Ready-to-use potassium silicate paint complying with DIN 18363/2.4.1.

An unalterable paint with good diffusion permeability, high UV stability, extreme weather resistance and insignificant tendency to soiling. Organic fraction < 5%.

Suitable for all mineral substrates, new or old unpainted renders: lime, cement, concrete, sandstone etc., as well as old lime- or silicate-based paints with strong adhesion.

Warning! Incompatible with dispersion paints and hydrophobic substrates.

Instructions for use

1. Pre-treatment

Substrate must be dry, clean, stable and absorbent. Scrub with a high-pressure cleaner if necessary. Completely remove all traces of dispersion, latex, oil or synthetic resin-based paint. Alkali-sensitive surfaces must be protected! Cracks, crevices, shrinkage cracks and other damage to plaster must be carefully filled with a mineral filler. Remove traces of formwork oil with a suitable detergent. Sand down laitance or remove it with a flow agent. Friable or highly absorbent substrates should be treated with BIOFA 1440 Universal Fixative. Fresh concrete should not be treated until it has dried for 30 days, and lime or cement rendering should not be treated until it has dried for 10 days.

Caution! Before painting old facades, all traces of fungus, mould, moss, algae or other impurities must be completely removed using a high-pressure cleaner. Facades currently or previously covered with plants must be cleaned mechanically and/or by fire to remove any fragments and/or pollen (clinging and climbing plants). Otherwise, these organic residues are likely to cause subsequent perforations, discolorations and stains.

of discoloration and staining in these areas.

Important note: When applying open-pore waterborne paints to various substrates

substances such as lignin, nicotine or rust, as well as various salts and humidity, can lead to perforation, discoloration or color deviations. For this reason, it is essential to check the compatibility of the substrate and carry out preliminary tests (sample areas). Watch out for VOCs!

2. Base coat

Stir EUROMIN facade paint thoroughly and apply with a brush, roller or Airless spray gun. To obtain bright shades, mix equal parts of EUROMIN color primer and EUROMIN white facade paint. For normally absorbent substrates, there is no reason why the first coat cannot be diluted to a maximum of 10% with BIOFA 1440 Universal Fixative. After dilution with this fixative, dried particles from the lid and rim of the paint can can be filtered out if necessary.

Important: Ensure even paint application! Close to and along the edges, work wet-on-wet! Use only soft rollers capable of absorbing sufficient paint! Pre-testing is recommended!

Do not apply this paint at temperatures below 5°C, in the heat (over 35°C in the shade) or in strong sunlight. At temperatures above 30°C, it is advisable to dampen the substrate before applying the first coat of paint.

3. Top coat

When applying EUROMIN white or coloured paint, apply a top coat or one or two top coats, diluted up to 5% with BIOFA 1440 Universal Fixative.

4. Cleaning tools

Clean tools immediately after use with water and BIOFA 0600 Brush Cleaner. Remove dry stains with BIOFA NATOLE 4060.

Drying

Paint can be recoated after 16 to 24 hours.
